Chembra Peak is a mountain peak located in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India. It is the highest peak in the Western Ghats range of Kerala, with an elevation of 2,100 meters (6,890 feet) above sea level. Chembra Peak is a popular trekking destination, attracting adventure enthusiasts from all over India and abroad.
The trek to Chembra Peak involves a moderate level of difficulty and takes around 3-5 hours to complete. The trek starts from Meppady, a small town located about 11 kilometers from Kalpetta, the district headquarters of Wayanad. The trekking trail is around 7 kilometers long and passes through dense forests, grasslands, and steep rocky terrain.
At the top of Chembra Peak, there is a heart-shaped lake known as Hridaya Saras, which is believed to have never dried up. Visitors are allowed to trek to the lake, but swimming or bathing in the lake is prohibited to maintain its purity.
